Polyester felt can be produced through Thermobonding using polyester Low bi-component binders or mechanically bound using Needlepunched technology.

Needlepunched polyester felt produced at Lacus France provide good resistance to mildew, organic acids, bleaches, and other oxidizing agents that could damage the material due to its tightly bound and interlocked fibres.
​
Thermobonded felts also provide good resistance to mildew, organic acids, bleaches, and other oxidizing agents but does not hold the same level of rigidity that can be found from Needlepunch.
